DXB, revisited
Some sights from my long layover at Dubai International airport (DXB).
Something to potentially explore with the little one (LO) next time.
"24 hours at DXB" art display.

Somali lawyers traveling to Mauritius for a conference about piracy (something tells me it was of the kind you'd encounter at sea).
These could be traveler personas...
How about a pilot?
This escalator is "smart" in that it can sense when people step on it. It doesn't move if there's no one. But I had no idea, and I actually walked down the regular steps next to it. What red-eye passenger would read the yellow stickers on the poles when you're trying to find your way to your connection around a massive airport? I assumed that the escalator was turned off during off-peak hours, until I saw an airport employee (a frequent/power user) step onto the escalator. My hunch is that if it could sense from a further distance (like those annoying grocery store doors that open when you're just waiting around by the front), occasional users might not trip. Hopefully they gathered some useful contextual observations during the 24 hours at DXB besides the photos and stories.

Golden arches and the Colonel are recognizable in any language.
Bon voyage!
It was one of those small planes where a shuttle takes you to it.
